There are several ways in which a Training level horse and/or rider can qualify for the Area II Adult Riders Training Level Three Day Event. Please note these are qualifications for THIS Training 3-Day ONLY. Please check your Omnibus and with the entry secretary of your Training 3-Day event in your area.

You can qualify any ONE of the three ways.

1. Qualifying For The AEC's

Horses and/or riders who qualify for the current year American Eventing Championships at Training Level will be qualified for the Area II Adult Riders Training 3-Day Event.

(From the USEA - online at www.useventing.com)

American Eventing Championship
Training Level Qualifications

Horses and riders, not necessarily as a combination, during the period from July 31, 2007 to August 18, 2008 will qualify to compete in this division when they have placed with the following qualifying result(s):
1st or 2nd in any USEA recognized Training Horse Trials
OR: 3rd in at least two USEA recognized Training Horse Trials
OR: 1st through 5th in any USEA Training Area Championship
Total Completed Competitions
The horse and rider must have, not necessarily as a combination, completed (obtained a final numerical score) a total of three USEA recognized Training Horse Trials, without cross-country jump penalties, during the qualifying period. Any of these three required completions can include the competition(s) used as Qualifying Results. One possible example: Winning or placing second at a USEA recognized Training Horse Trial during the qualifying period (without cross-country jump penalties) would count as a Qualifying Result. In addition, the horse and rider (not necessarily as a combination) would need to have completed (obtained a final numerical score) two other USEA recognized Training Horse Trials, without cross-country jump penalties, during the qualifying period.

2. Qualifying With 4 Completed Horse Trials at Training Level

The qualifying period runs from November, 2007, to the closing date of entries.

The horse and rider combination must complete (finish with a score) four (4) USEA recognized horse trials at the Training level without jumping penalties on the cross country phase.

3. Special Exception

Upon application with complete records, the organizers will make an exception to the above if in their opinion the horse/rider combination is suited to compete. This is on a case by case basis, and the organizers' decision is final. For information please contact Cindy DePorter, Co-organizer, or Gretchen Butts, Co-organizer, directly. Refer to the USEA Omnibus for information on contacting the above.
